If this is your first time getting injectables, knowing how to prepare can help you feel more confident and comfortable. To reduce the risk of bruising or swelling, we recommend avoiding alcohol, blood thinners, and anti-inflammatory medications, like ibuprofen or aspirin, for at least 24 hours before your appointment. These substances can increase sensitivity and make your skin more prone to bruising. You should also avoid fish oil, vitamin E, and herbal supplements that thin the blood.
Stay well-hydrated and eat a light meal beforehand to help keep your body balanced. There’s no need to arrive early or overly prepped—just come with a clean face if possible (no makeup), and let your provider know if you’ve had any recent treatments or health changes. If you’re feeling nervous or unsure, we’re here to talk you through everything. Your comfort and safety come first.
